BUCKEYE, AZ (March 5, 2024): Buckeye police have contacted the woman believed to be involved in an apparent domestic violence incident caught on camera. Detectives confirmed she is uninjured and offered her services. Investigators are now seeking information to further the case.
Just after 10 p.m. on February 23, a customer at the Circle K gas station near Watson Rd. and I-10 reported an incident that had occurred at the location. Surveillance video from the gas station showed a gray SUV pulling up to one of the gas pumps followed by a female running away from the vehicle. A male subject is then seen grabbing the female and dragging her back to the vehicle before driving away northbound on Watson Rd.
On February 29, Buckeye police released the gas station surveillance video and asked the public for assistance in, what was believed to be, a possible assault and kidnapping. Multiple tips came in from all over the country. In the days that followed, detectives were able to contact the woman believed to be in the now-viral video and develop information that the incident was likely a domestic violence incident.
Buckeye police would like to hear from witnesses and anyone with direct knowledge of the incident that occurred at the gas station. Anyone with information is urged to call the tip line at 623-349-6411.
