The city tax is in addition to the tax imposed by the state or county. The city of Buckeye tax rate (for most businesses) is 3.0% and is imposed upon the business. For a large ticket item that exceeds $1,999.99 (increases to $5,000 effective 4/1/23), the 1.1% privilege tax rate shall apply to the entire single item. A taxable business will need to be registered with the city of Buckeye as well as licensed by the State of Arizona.

Transaction privilege tax if filed with State of Arizona Department of Revenue using a Transaction Privilege, Use and Severance Tax Return (TPT-2). In order to file the TPT-2 form, a business must register with the State of Arizona Department of Revenue using a Joint Tax Application Form.
