City of Buckeye
Home MenuNational Community Survey
Buckeye launched the community survey for residents to provide direct input to the city’s decision-making process regarding our policies and programs. The National Community Survey (NCS), allows Buckeye to compare results and benchmark residents’ opinions against other communities across the country.
The survey includes questions about quality of life, important characteristics of our community, services provided by Buckeye and priorities for the future. Specifically, Buckeye wants to know what we can do to work towards a better quality of life, a safer community and address the challenges residents face in our fast growing community.
Responses are anonymous, and personal information is securely stored on Polco, an innovative, secure, online engagement platform. Polco is committed to a strict privacy policy; individual data and votes are never shared.
2023 Results
- Residents value safety and emphasize its importance in the community. Safety-related services matched the national benchmarks. However, the safety of our downtown/commercial area during the day received lower marks, but improved since the 2022 NCS.
- The economy is an important area of focus for Buckeye. The city’s overall economic health and development were similar to the national benchmarks, but other aspects to the city’s economy fell below national averages. As one of the fastest growing cities in the country, these results are not unusual.
- Buckeye’s community design received positive reviews, but residents identified areas of potential opportunity. Residents gave positive rankings to their neighborhoods but felt the city’s overall design of both residential and commercial areas should be an important focus for the next few years.
- Residents rated local governance favorably. City services were given high marks, and treating residents fairly, with respect and keeping them informed matched the national benchmarks. Similar benchmarks were met with the overall confidence of Buckeye’s government, the direction the city is taking and acting in the best interest of the community.
