The holidays are upon us and we're offering a few new ways to spread holiday cheer! Holiday bags are fun for the little ones, a holiday light contest that will set neighborhoods a glow and more ways to help within our community! Explore the tabs below to learn more.
Cotton Fest
Where: Downtown Buckeye (6th St. Plaza & Monroe Ave.) When: December 7, 2024 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
As we pay tribute to Buckeye’s rich farming history, this street fair style event will feature items made by local artisans, indie crafts created with incredible workmanship and a classic car show, making it fun for the entire family.
Cotton Fest will draw shoppers from around the Valley looking for that perfect holiday gift, making it a great opportunity to showcase your one-of-a-kind products.
Buckeye is seeking unique and talented craft vendors and artists for Cotton Fest on Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Buckeye. Interested in being a vendor at Cotton Fest? Vendor applications are now open! Apply here to get started.
Where: Downtown Buckeye (6th St. Plaza & Monroe Ave.) When: December 14, 2024 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Join the city of Buckeye for the Annual Glow on Monroe electric light parade on Saturday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Buckeye.
The free event lights up Monroe Avenue from 2nd St. to Apache Rd. with decked out displays of holiday lights on historic fire trucks, horse drawn carriages and other vintage vehicles. Local school marching bands are also part of the parade providing festive music to get you in the holiday spirit and stick around after the parade to get your picture taken with Santa.

Get in the holiday spirit as Buckeye decks out downtown and Sundance Park with dazzling holiday light displays. The downtown area will once again be decorated with thousands of lights and photo booth stand-ins for the perfect backdrop for your holiday photos. Of course, the city’s 33-foot tall Christmas tree will light up the 6th Street Plaza.
It’s a Candy Land takeover at Sundance Park. The walkthrough experience based on the famous board game will be recreated with different themes from the game like Gumdrop Pass, Peppermint Forest and Snowflake Lake. Participants will be able to walk through each station and take photos, pose with themed props and enjoy the new Sundance Park Lake! Bring the entire family out and get the perfect picture for this year’s holiday card.
All holiday lights will turn on at sunset on November 30 through January 1.
Hometown Holiday Lights
Join us for the holidays in Buckeye with the Hometown Holiday Lights. Enter your outdoor holiday display November 8 to December 12. Categories include:
Jingle Bell Rock: Musical light display
Griswold: Over-the-top decorations with lots of lights
Decorating: No inflatable items

Santa Letters
The city of Buckeye is collecting letters for Santa and will send them to the North Pole! Drop off Santa letters at the North Pole mailboxes:
Next to the Holiday Tree at 6th Street Plaza (across from Buckeye City Hall)
Coyote Branch Library (21699 W. Yuma Rd. Suite 116) & Downtown Library (310 N. 6th St.)
Dr. Saide Rec Center (1003 E. Eason Ave.) & Sundance Rec Center (21699 W. Yuma Rd.)
Senior Center (201 E. Centre Ave.)
All letters dropped off by December 16 will receive a response from Santa. In order for your child to receive a response from Santa, letters will need to include your child’s first and last name as well as return address.
Shop Small Saturday
Kick off the holiday season by supporting local businesses throughout the city on Shop Small Saturday, November 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In downtown Buckeye, the Buckeye Mainstreet Coalition will be at Benbow Park with “shop small shopping bags” filled with goodies, coupons and information on the many unique shops and restaurants in the area. Shopping bags are available on a first come, first serve basis.
