2024 Development Impact Fee Update
The city of Buckeye is in the process of updating their development impact fees. As part of this process, an Impact Fee Study is being completed to review and update current Land Use Assumptions (LUA), Infrastructure Improvement Plans (IIP) and to prepare a development fee report which details the fee calculation methodology and establishes the fee by each development type.

- August 1, 2024: Advertise the LUA and IIP
- August 6, 2024: Council Workshop
- October 15, 2024: Public Hearing on LUA and IIP
- November 19, 2024: Adoption of LUA and IIP and Advertise Development Fees
- January 7, 2025: Public Hearing Development Fees
- February 18, 2025: Adoption Development Fees
- May 5, 2025: Fees Effective
State Legislation
Arizona’s enabling act for municipalities is codified in Sec. 9-463.05, Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS). In 2011, the legislature passed SB 1525, which was signed by the governor on April 26, 2011. SB 1525 constituted a major overhaul of Arizona’s enabling act for municipalities.
Development Impact Fee Information
The city’s Development Impact Fee Ordinance establishes the procedures and standards for the creation of the Development Impact Fee Program.

Fee Schedules
Current fees were approved by the Buckeye City Council and effective July 1, 2020.
