Fire Cadets
We are not accepting applications for Fire Cadets program at this time. We plan to open the application process in the sprring, so visit the website in early March 2025 for specific dates.
Being a Cadet for the Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Department is a great place to learn what firefighters face daily. The Buckeye Fire-Medical-Rescue Fire Cadet Program educates future firefighters on the duties and responsibilities of a sworn firefighter. The Cadet Program provides the individual with training to prepare them for a future in the fire service.
Fire Cadets will participate in a variety of training areas: firefighting skills, fitness, EMS, fire board interview preparation, character development and community relations.
The Cadet will learn about the fire and medical service, and in turn, they volunteer time back to their communities. Cadets also participate in community service events including public education activities and city-sponsored events. Participation in these extra activities has minimal requirements, however, members are highly encouraged to participate.
