The Buckeye Airport Area Plan is a short-term implementation task of the Imagine Buckeye 2040 General Plan. Through adoption of the general plan, the community envisioned the Buckeye Airport area as a regional employment and retail hub anchored by the airport. The purpose of the area plan will be to create future land use designations that both complement and support the functions and impacts of the airport. This area has great potential to spur development in the city of Buckeye.

The SAP is a 12-month process involving a series of community meetings with citizens, stakeholder interviews, focus groups interviews and work sessions with the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council. This study does not include the airport property (Airport Master Plan), only the land around the airport.
