Victim Assistance Unit

The Buckeye Police Department Victim Assistance Unit is committed to supporting crime victims including survivors of homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, burglary, assault, threats and harassment. Victim advocates provide a variety of services including:

  • Crisis counseling
  • Safety planning
  • Emotional support
  • Victim's rights information
  • Case updates
  • Court accompaniment
  • Guidance with criminal justice procedures
  • Guidance with orders of protection and injunctions against harassment
  • Guidance with victim compensation claims
  • Address confidentiality program
  • Information, resource and referrals

The Victim Assistance Unit can also act as a liaison between the victim and agencies involved to keep them informed and give them a voice.
