City of Buckeye Social Services Program

Buckeye’s Social Services Program partners with Maricopa County Community Action Program (CAP), to help residents during unexpected financial challenges. The program provides support that fosters self-sufficiency and stability through limited, temporary assistance with utility and eviction prevention for qualifying Buckeye residents.

Currently, the CAP program is experiencing a high volume of applications for rental and utility assistance. If you have successfully applied online, you will receive updates through email regarding your application.

Processing time can take up to eight weeks.

Applicants can check the status of their application by logging into their client portal account and clicking on “Client Overview” at the top of the screen. A new page will open and provide application, case and service history information. Your case status will be updated in your client portal when we begin processing your application.

Residents can begin the pre-screening process by:

Documentation required to process applications:

  • Photo identification
  • Verification of all income received for the most recent 60 days by any household member
    • For example: Social Security award letter, paystubs, verification of unemployment insurance benefits, pensions, child support checks, DES cash assistance award letter, etc.
  • Proof of COVID-19 impact (if applicable)
    • For example: Verification of unemployment during pandemic, letter form employer for loss of income, etc.
  • Current lease for rental assistance
  • Current or most recent utility bill for electric, gas or water

Please bring the entire statement or bill that shows a full month's billing cycle or service for the most recent month. Additional documentation might be requested depending on funding sources available.
