Permanent Facility at Westpark Fire Station 706
The project will establish a permanent fire station within the Westpark community, replacing the current interim facility. This project is designed to enhance living conditions, expand bay facilities and ensure full compliance with NFPA standards, thereby enhancing safety and service to residents.
Public Safety Headquarters
Funding from the bond will establish a centralized Police and Fire administration facility. This facility will serve as the base for Buckeye patrol, criminal investigations, special operations functions and could accommodate laboratory and detention holding cells. Additionally, the site would house the Fire Department headquarters, providing offices for battalion chiefs and potentially serving as an emergency operations center and dispatch facilities.
Existing facilities lack the capacity to meet the operational demands of our expanding police and fire/medical services. Furthermore, support and emergency response personnel are dispersed among various outdated facilities throughout the city, hindering efficiency and coordination.
Public Safety Training Support Facilities
Begin the initial phase of developing advanced training facilities for the Buckeye Police and Fire Departments. These facilities may encompass a driving track, shooting range, training classrooms, fire suppression center and technology center. The bond funding allocated for this project will be utilized to facilitate land acquisition, infrastructure development and procurement of essential equipment.
Buckeye public safety crews frequently utilize busy training facilities located outside our jurisdiction. Establishing training facilities nearby will significantly reduce the wait and registration times currently experienced at these facilities outside the city.
Victory Fire Station Construction
The city plans to develop a fire station to be located within the Victory planned development in Verrado. This project aims to accommodate apparatus and housing of staff tasked with responding to fire and medical emergencies in this growing region.
The Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue Department is committed to establishing state-of-the-art, multi-bay facilities that adhere to NFPA standards. The implementation of a station in this location will minimize the number of "first due" calls handled by neighboring stations and will positively impact existing response times.
